Create Art Class with Diane Bigda: Hand-Printed Bookmarks: An Exercise in Printmaking and Mixed Media

We’ll get our hands a little dirty with this multimedia project, with each student taking home their own laminated bookmarks. Each will reflect their imaginative sense and help them with summer reading.

Learn how to do basic printmaking in this class. We will create drawings which will be used for printing two to three bookmarks. They will be enhanced with color and collage materials, laminated, and finished with string which will make them keepsakes.

Ages 6 to 10.

Class limited to 12 students.

You must pre-register. Fee is $40 per student per class. You can sign up for one or all four classes for $145.

Diane Bigda is a teacher at the Art Institute of Boston, where she teaches watercolor, natural history drawing, surface design and book illustration. She is the creator of all the Clearflour Bakery posters and the tree in the back of the Booksmith.

Anna Jo Beck will be assisting Diane. She is a senior at the Art Institute of Boston. In her spare time she doodles, binds books, and plays ukulele.
