Kim is the story of a sharp-witted boy who learns about life on the streets of Lahore in India. He is able to pass as an Indian, but is actually an Irish orphan. His friends from all walks of life call him Friend of All the World.” He meets and adopts a gentle old man from Tibeta lama searching for the Lord Buddha’s sacred river. The holy man takes the boy to be a cheladisciplesent from heaven, and Kim comes to love him. But the authorities discover Kim, give him a Sahib’s education, and at 16 years of age, enlist him into the Great Gamethe dangerous world of British espionage, at which he excels.

About the Author

Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was one of the most popular writers in English, in both prose and verse, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1907, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, making him the first English language writer to receive the prize, and he remains today its youngest-ever recipient.

Born in Bombay, India, Sam Dastor has appeared in a variety of American and British television shows, from "A Touch of Frost" to "I-5." His latest role is Tariq in "Banglatown Banquet."
