Start: 10:00 am
End: 12:00 pm
By exploring some basic book binding techinques, each student will create their very own fabulous journal for collecting their adventures. We will cover simple binding, such as the pamphlet stitch and instant books to create our adventure journals. We will also use “found” materials such as envelopes and upcycled paper. While the books construction will be the same from student to student, their choice in materials will give their books their own personailty. Ages 8 to 12. Class limited to 12 students. You must pre-register. Fee is $40 per student per class. You can sign up for one or all four classes for $145. Diane Bigda is a teacher at the Art Institute of Boston, where she teaches watercolor, natural history drawing, surface design and book illustration. She is the creator of all the Clearflour Bakery posters and the tree in the back of the Booksmith. Anna Jo Beck will be assisting Diane. She is a senior at the Art Institute of Boston. In her spare time she doodles, binds books, and plays ukulele.
