Start: 10:00 am
End: 12:00 pm
Each student will receive collage materials, backing paper, glue, and scissors to create their own fanciful bird (or birds). They will learn the basics of collage, get inspired by Picasso, Romare Bearden and other artists working in the medium. We will explore working with texture, cut shapes, ephemera, and will make a bird that can be hung in your home. Ages 6 to 10. Class limited to 12 students. You must pre-register. Fee is $40 per student per class.  You can sign up for one or all four classes for $145. Diane Bigda is a teacher at the Art Institute of Boston, where she teaches watercolor, natural history drawing, surface design and book illustration. She is the creator of all the Clearflour Bakery posters and the tree in the back of the Booksmith.  Anna Jo Beck will be assisting Diane. She is a senior at the Art Institute of Boston. In her spare time she doodles, binds books, and plays ukulele.
